Past adventures
Thanksgiving 2021
Ecuador
Quito, Banos, Montanita, Amazon
Volcanoes, hiking, canoeing, exploring
Quito
We explored old town, seeing the colorful markets with wooden ukaleles and other trinkets. We ate local almuerzos and learned about the political dramas of each president before the other. We took a gondala up a volcano and saw beautiful churches. We hope to tell you more, hold tight until we are ready to share!
Banos
Prime place for water sports like kayaking, canyoneering, rafting and more, waterfalls, and hiking. The best part is the lush forests and jungle that surrounds you during the thrill. We chose canyoneering the first time we went.
More on this later…..

The Kulbis family packed up the house and moved to Addis Ababa for 11 months! Ruta volunteered, organizing youth AIDS prevention programs, while Tadas cared for the children, aged 6-13 at the time. We attended school, shopped at the outdoor markets, joined the local soccer team, and had a chance to explore the rich diversity of the region. Living off savings, we gained exposure to how others live in our shared world. The experience taught us that our way isn't necessarily the "right" way or the "only" way to do things. Living as part of another culture, we became less judgmental and more open to see life differently. Our travels renew our gratitude for all we have been blessed with.
